Forget What You Know: There Is No Such Thing as Dark Energy

The accelerating expansion of the universe is a well-established fact confirmed by numerous scientific observations. The most widely accepted explanation for this phenomenon is a mysterious and invisible force known as dark energy. However, this view is likely not correct. In my opinion, dark energy is nothing more than a hypothesis proposed to explain the mysteries of the universe. Let’s look at the situation from a different perspective.

Where Does the Expansion Come From?

To understand the expansion of the universe, we need to go back to the very beginning—the Big Bang. In this monumental event, matter and energy were flung outward in all directions with tremendous force. This is where the law of conservation of momentum came into play. All the particles created during the explosion continue to move away from the center due to the momentum they gained and encounter no significant resistance.

So, the expansion of the universe is a natural result of this initial momentum. But the matter doesn’t end there; the real question is: Why is the expansion accelerating?

Stars scattered throughout the universe are constantly emitting particles. Stars like our Sun continuously radiate photons, protons, and neutrons. These particles behave much like boiling water spilling over the edge of a pot. They push away everything they encounter. As these particles spread out in every direction in space, they collide with each other and create an outward pressure. This generates a persistent force that contributes to and accelerates the expansion of the universe.

In other words, the driving force behind the acceleration could be a much more tangible and observable mechanism, rather than an invisible and mysterious form of energy.

Of course, this is a hypothesis. But science advances through the bold proposal and testing of new ideas. Perhaps what we call dark energy is actually a misinterpretation of a more fundamental and natural process taking place in the universe.
